As all of you know I have been working hard to get my AAS so I can become a super awesome Network Admin/Security Officer, but what you don't all know is that as I am gaining knowledge I am gaining power. My innate hacking and code cracking abilities have gone super saiyan as of late and tonight I proved to outdo myself.
Here is the play by play:
Jav and I were working on stuff via messenger for the Server class. While doing the quizzes Jav drops a link on me to a website that hosts books for teachers to review. I laughed about the hell I could cause with one of those, but lamented that I wasn't about to shell out my munnies for a book for a class I would soon complete. Jav then sent me another link, this time one from google. While searching for answers for the quiz we were taking he stumbled on a link to the lecture book for the class which, how appropriately, contained the answers to the quiz. We laughed and Aced our quiz and he exited, while I continued to look at the url. It was from a college in Seattle and it was about 9 slashes down before it displayed the pdf for the book. I took a crack at it and was able to find a back door through part of the url. It lead me to the FTP where all the teachers save their information for their own use and in there I found a cornucopia of knowledge. Among it I picked a few things for my personal collection, including the e-books for the courses I am enrolled in this semester and every course previous and 6 courses forward including the security course I will need to take to get my Security+ Certificate. All of the books and the teachers editions.....right there for my picking. I swear to god I nearly cried. The whole ftp was full of stuff and I did a look through all of the files before calling it a night. (They have a LOT of science teachers; biology especially)
I knew those of you that are computer geeks and of course my usual fans of my normal digital deviance will have a good laugh over my amazing tromp through the computer databases of a Yankee school. This leaves me to my final comment.
NEVER LEAVE YOUR NETWORK UNPROTECTED, WE ARE OUT THERE!
